We are proud to introduce two connoisseur of grooves, namely Sobersides and SunDee who have been pushing SPIN SUGAR to new levels of enjoyment.
Sobersides aka Dimas Dhyara was born in Bali, and during his teens resided to Yogyakarta, Indonesia for his studies. Embracing and loving music since young, Dimas took part in many side-stream music movements around Yogyakarta circa 2011-2014, including managing community art projects and gigs such as Common People and Indiepop Rising Club Jogja. In 2011, he participated in Outerbeat, a weekly indie/alt music show on the waves of Eltira Radio. During 2011-2014, he established seminal gigs titled Japanese Whispers as a medium for indie Japanese bands touring Yogyakarta, and DIY gigs titled Totalfeedback, showcasing the might of indierock, postpunk, 90s, shoegaze artists and bands. Currently living in Bali, he frequents SPIN SUGAR as Sobersides, playing mesmerising eclectic sets every time behind the decks.
Meanwhile, SunDee aka Sandi Kalifadani was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Sandi is a musician, records collector and artist who persistently experiments on numerous media. His background is industrial engineering and he has a keen interest in sound processing, sound therapy, soundscape, instrument building, music video and collaboration between science and art. He initiated Folk Afternoon and Walk The Folk, participatory music projects which bring together people from different backgrounds in the spirit of exchange and eliminate the boundary between stage and audience. He is also a member of Gemati, a project that addresses the issue of Javanese sociocultural phenomenon using various medium of sound experiments, poetry and visual art. Currently he also works as a yoga teacher.
